Cells of Life 5 - Little work of art celebrating cell division
These little cells of life are made from mirrors, hand embroidered and beaded directly onto canvas. I then stretch it and paint around the fiber work using acrylic paints. This piece features golden threads swirly around and a final embellishment of gold ink.
I'm inspired by science and predominantly work in the area of neuroscience, exploring brains, neurons and these primal bits of cellular material. This piece is an abstract look at cell division.
The finished piece is 8x8 inches on 1.5 inch stretcher bars and is wired for hanging on the back. You'll see side shots and close ups in the photos.
