Blooming Brain -10x12 mixed media neuro art piece - framed or unframed
My 'Blooming Brain' features a bevy of hand embroidered colorful cotton flowers in a field of golden threads. It started out as one of the designs in my Brilliant Brain Coloring Book, and I couldn't help but stitch it up. The flowers were stitched up in a stain stitch while the background of gold is done through a thread painting technique.
It took a very long time to complete the stitching. Once the embroidery was completed, I stretched it onto an 10x12 set of stretcher bars and painted the background with acrylic paint. I found the perfect distressed look wooden frame which is optional to purchase or not. It is wired in the back for hanging and the full framed piece measures 15x17.
