Using the Kinusaiga technique of tucked fabric, I created a beautiful brain that quite literally sparkles. This tucking technique quite nicely mimics the gyri and sulci of the brain’s surface. I utilized a bit of specialty fabric including velvets, satins, batiks and a printed ‘Be Brilliant’ that was designed by a neuroscientist and sourced on Spoonflower. Interspersed on the brain itself and covering the entire background is a sheer netting of tiny sequins that catch the light.
Signed original art. I will not be making prints of kinusaiga pieces. This piece is 8×10 inches and comes framed in a natural wood shadowbox frame that measures 11×9×2 inches. It can be hung on the wall by the sawtooth hangar on the back or can sit on a shelf.
